Volunteer
Volunteers are the primary driving force of the Boy Scouts of America. Of course the best way to volunteer is directly with a unit. This page provides some resources for both unit level volunteers as well as some information on how to volunteer on the council level.

Council Level Volunteers

Council and District
Commissioners
Commissioners are district and council leaders who help Scout units succeed. They coach and consult with adult leaders of Cub Scout packs, Scouts BSA troops, Venturing crews, and Sea Scout Ships. Commissioners help maintain the standards of the Boy Scouts of America. They also oversee the unit charter renewal plan so that each unit re-registers on time with an optimum number of youth and adult members.

Council Committees
Outdoor Programs Committee
The Outdoor Programs Committee oversees the planning of various activities throughout the year. They help to develop the long term plans for the Camp Jayhawk and Camp Delaware programs.
Shooting Sports Committee
The Shooting Sports Committee helps to plan any of the target and range sports offered by BSA programs. They help to make sure all the proper safety measures are enforced and that qualified instructors are available for the programs. If you are looking to help out with archery, rifle, or shotgun programs, contact the Shooting Sports Committee to learn how to get trained.
Training Committee
Developing good leaders through training is an important part of helping to achieve the mission of the BSA. The Council Training Committee helps to coordinate and lead various trainings like NYLT, Wood Badge, BALOO, Trainer's EDGE, and more. They can also help Troop or Crews lead the Introduction to Leadership Skills For Troops or Crews to help advance the youth leadership of the unit.
