Nominating for Topeka's Top 20 Under 40
Why should I nominate?
We know that communities are made stronger when they support and value their talented young professionals. The Top 20 Under 40 awards allow the Topeka community to invest in this talent by recognizing the outstanding work of young professionals in our community. By nominating someone to receive a Top 20 under 40 award, you are providing valuable acknowledgement of their work, as well as encouragement to continue making a difference in our community.
Who should I nominate?
Think of influential young professionals you know that are working hard to make a difference in Topeka and Shawnee County. They may be your friends, co-workers, neighbors, or fellow organization members. As you consider who to nominate, think of individuals who not only excel professionally, but have chosen to dedicate their time outside of work to efforts that improve their community. These individuals should serve as role models for future leaders, and have demonstrated the ability to motivate and lead others.
What information do I need?
In addition to the basic contact information about the nominee, the nomination form asks you to state why you feel that particular individual deserves to be recognized as one of this year’s Top 20 Under 40. Each year we receive over 100 applications for the Top 20 Under 40 award. Therefore, it is helpful to the selection committee if you can include as much detail as possible about what distinguishes your nominee from the others. While the nominee will include letters of recommendation and other information in their application, your nomination statements can offer great insight into the nominee.
